The Department of Civil Engineering and the School of Engineering, in association with the Department of Chemistry and Environmental Cell of Presidency University, conducted an international webinar on the effects of plastic pollution and sustainable alternatives to plastic on December 23, 2023.

The key resource person for the webinar was Ms. Mahima T, Scientist D, Regional Directorate (Bengaluru), Central Pollution Control Board, Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Climate Change, Government of India. Through her presentation in the webinar, she highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the plastic waste crisis and covered topics such as policy implications, community involvement, and the role of technology in mitigating plastic pollution.

The interactive webinar successfully engaged 225 participants, fostering awareness about the adverse effects of plastic pollution and inspiring discussions on sustainable alternatives.
