Industrial Visit to U R Rao Satellite Centre, Bengaluru
The Presidency School of Computer Science and Engineering organised an industrial visit to the U R Rao Satellite Centre, Bengaluru, on 2 February 2026, from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm. Students and faculty members departed from the university campus in the morning and reached the Indian Space Research Organisation campus as scheduled. The visit aimed to provide participants with first-hand exposure to real-world space research and satellite development activities, bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical industrial applications.
During the visit, scientists and technical experts from URSC delivered detailed briefings on spacecraft design, satellite development, and launching mechanisms. Special emphasis was placed on the Chandrayaan-2 mission, supported by an informative video presentation and discussions on future ISRO missions and long-term space exploration goals. Participants also explored the exhibition area featuring satellite prototypes, rocket models, and spacecraft displays, which enhanced their visual and conceptual understanding of complex space technologies. The visit proved to be highly educational and inspiring, motivating students to consider careers in space science, aerospace engineering, and advanced research while strengthening the relevance of academic learning through practical exposure.
