The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) successfully organised Industrial Visit – II to the Power Grid, Singanayakana, Yelahanka, Bengaluru, on 03 February 2026, offering meaningful industrial exposure to students.

Event Summary

 

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Presidency School of Engineering, organised an industrial visit to the Power Grid Substation at Singanayakana, Yelahanka, Bengaluru, on 03 February 2026 for 30 girl students of 6EEE01.

 

The visit provided hands-on exposure to high-voltage transmission systems and grid infrastructure. Students observed the operation of 400 kV and 220 kV substations, along with associated equipment critical to power transmission and distribution.

 

Engineers from the Power Grid explained the substation layout, protection schemes, load management practices, and safety measures, enabling students to gain a practical understanding of grid stability and real-time power system operations. The industrial visit helped students effectively connect classroom theory with industry practices, enhancing their technical confidence and awareness of power sector operations.

 

Overall, the visit was informative, engaging, and highly educational, contributing positively to the professional development of the participants.
