Product Design students of the 4th and 6th semesters undertook an academic industrial visit to the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bengaluru, on 22 January 2026 from 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM. The visit was organised to provide students with practical exposure to contemporary industrial environments and to enhance their understanding of real-world applications of product design.

During the visit, students explored recent advancements in manufacturing technologies, automation, and prevailing industry practices showcased at the venue. The experience helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and industrial application, offering valuable insights into large-scale manufacturing processes and professional industry standards. The industrial visit proved to be an informative and enriching learning experience, contributing positively to the students’ academic and professional development.

The event offered valuable exposure to emerging technical domains, particularly prompt engineering, while helping students build confidence through competitive participation. Technopia 2026 concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, awarding cash prizes worth INR 18,000, and emerged as a grand success, strengthening the department’s technical culture and promoting experiential and collaborative learning.
