Presidency University and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) officially launched a collaboration on May 9, 2025. This marked a significant step towards enhancing English language proficiency and international education opportunities for students.

The launch event was graced by several University key officials, including pro vice chancellors Dr. Md Sameeruddin Khan, Dr. S. Sivaperumal, and Dr. Pritha Sanyal, HOD, Presidency School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Department of Languages. Representing the IELTS team were Mr. Abhishek M Swamy, Assistant Territory Manager – Karnataka, IELTS, and Mr. Zulkar Nain, IELTS Operations. The event was attended by a large number of enthusiastic students and faculty members from the University, highlighting the widespread interest in this initiative.

In her welcome address, Dr. Sanyal emphasised the significance of the partnership in today’s global educational context. Dr. Khan underscored the importance of academic advancement, while Dr. Sivaperumal outlined the vision driving the collaboration.

The inauguration was followed by the official launch and Mr. Swamy presenting the Certificate of Partnership to Presidency University. Following the presentation, Mr. Swamy led an informative session on IELTS operations, detailing the benefits and support available to students.

This collaboration is set to provide the students with expanded access to IELTS resources, including comprehensive test preparation programs, streamlined registration processes, and dedicated support services. The partnership aims to equip students with the necessary English language proficiency to excel in international academic and professional environments.
