Human Library 2025: A Celebration of Stories, Voices, and Empathy

20-November-2025

Presidency School of Liberal Arts and Sciences organised an engaging Human Library Session on November 20, 2025. The event aimed at fostering empathy, reflective thinking, and meaningful dialogue among the learners. The event was curated for students of BA EnglishBA Psychology and M.Sc. Psychology programmes.

The session introduced students to the Human Library, a unique initiative where “Human Books” share lived experiences to challenge stereotypes and deepen understanding. Featuring diverse voices and themes such as identity, resilience, healing, and belonging, the interactive dialogues encouraged active listening, thoughtful questioning, and meaningful reflection beyond the classroom.

Facilitators ensured a safe, respectful space for open conversations, helping students appreciate empathy, emotional awareness, and multiple perspectives. The experience highlighted the value of human-centred learning in shaping socially conscious graduates, aligning with the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences’ commitment to holistic and inclusive education. Students engaged enthusiastically, gaining insights that helped them rethink assumptions and appreciate diverse lived realities.
