Hands-on Workshop on Additive Manufacturing and EV Technologies

31-October-2025

Presidency School of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with Wipro 3D, organised a two-day workshop on “Additive Manufacturing (AM) and Electric Vehicle (EV) Batteries” on October 30–31, 2025, at Wipro 3D, Bengaluru. The event aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of emerging trends in additive manufacturing and their applications in electric vehicle battery production. The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Leela Krishnan Ethiraj and Ms. Akshatha Hulmani Dayananda, both experts in advanced manufacturing and sustainable energy technologies.

During the two-day session, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of additive manufacturing, including its materials, processes, and industrial applications. The first day featured technical demonstrations at Wipro 3D’s state-of-the-art facility, where attendees gained hands-on exposure to metal 3D printing and design optimisation techniques. The second day focused on electric vehicle battery technologies, addressing key aspects such as material sustainability, design integration, and manufacturability. The facilitators also discussed the synergy between additive manufacturing and EV components, highlighting how these technologies contribute to eco-efficient mobility solutions.

The workshop was highly interactive, encouraging active participation from students, faculty, and researchers. Attendees engaged in technical discussions, practical observations, and question-and-answer sessions, which enhanced their understanding of industrial practices and sustainable engineering solutions. Both trainers shared valuable insights from their professional experiences, helping participants connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.

The workshop concluded with participant feedback and certificate distribution, marking a successful and enriching learning experience that strengthened awareness of the transformative role of additive manufacturing and EV technologies in the future of sustainable industries.
