Halloween 2.0: Where Campus Got a Little Spooky

28-October-2026

On 28 October 2026, the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences (SOLAS), in collaboration with the Department of Student Affairs (DSA), hosted Halloween 2.0: Costume Contest at Presidency University. Organised by the Humanscape Club, the event built upon the success of the University’s first campus Halloween celebration in 2025.

The evening brought together creativity, performance, and community spirit through a vibrant lineup of student-led activities.

Event Highlights

· Costume Contest and Fashion Show 2.0: Students presented imaginative, creative, and themed costumes, evaluated by [judges’ names and designations]. Winners received hampers in recognition of their creativity and presentation.

· Dance and Music Performances: SLAS students energised the audience with engaging dance and musical performances.

· Anchoring: The event was hosted by SLAS students, alongside a member of the Speakers and Anchors Club.

· Student Stalls: Around 10 stalls offered food, accessories, games, and other attractions for attendees.

· Photo Booths: Two photo booths—one complimentary and one paid—allowed students to capture memories from the celebration.

Halloween 2.0 was more than a celebration; it reflected the University’s commitment to holistic student development. From conceptualisation and planning to stage management, anchoring, and coordination, the event was largely student-driven. Such initiatives provide students with opportunities to showcase their talents, develop organisational and leadership skills, and strengthen the sense of community on campus. The event also highlighted the role of the humanities and creative expression in enriching campus life.

As the evening came to a close, it left behind not only memories of costumes, music, and celebration, but also a renewed sense of creativity and camaraderie across campus.

Until next Halloween, stay curious—and a little spooky.
