Presidency School of Computer Science & Engineering organised a guest lecture on "Cryptography Through the Ages: Transformative Journey of Cryptography" on November 6, 2025. The event aimed to introduce students to the evolution of cryptography—from ancient cyphers to modern encryption—highlighting its role in securing information systems.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Rajashree Sridhar, Director & Founder, Ganaka Praudyogikee Tech Solutions Pvt. Ltd., who covered a wide range of topics, including the evolution of cryptographic methods, classical cypher systems, PKI and digital signatures, modern cybersecurity applications, blockchain-based security, and the ethical and policy dimensions of cryptography. She also encouraged interdisciplinary thinking by linking mathematical foundations with real-world technological applications and motivated students to pursue careers or research in cybersecurity and data protection.
The event was well received, with participants gaining a strong understanding of cryptographic fundamentals and the importance of cryptography in ensuring privacy, data integrity, and trust in today’s digital world.
