Presidency University celebrated the Founder’s Day on February 7, 2025. It was a memorable event, marked by heartfelt speeches, vibrant performances, and moments of reflection on the institution's journey of Dr. Nissar Ahmed, Hon'ble Chancellor. His unwavering commitment to education, innovation, and excellence has shaped generations of students and continues to drive our journey forward.

 

The event commenced with a warm introduction by Dr. Pritha Sanyal, HOD, Department of Languages which was followed by a welcome speech by Dr. Sameena Noor Ahmed Panali, Registrar, who warmly greeted the audience and emphasized the significance of the day. Dr. Vijayan Immanuel, Vice Chancellor, delivered an inspiring address, focusing on the vital role of education, which begins at home. He also shed light on the Chancellor’s instrumental efforts in enabling countless students to pursue and sustain their education.

 

Following the inaugural speeches, a celebratory cake-cutting ceremony took place, with Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Nissar Ahmed joined on stage by his family. A short video chronicling his inspiring life journey showcased his achievements and lasting contributions. The event also featured the unveiling of the cover of his book, "Chasing Greater Heights: Memories of an Institution Builder," which was met with admiration from the audience.

 

Dr. Nissar Ahmed then delivered a heartfelt speech, reflecting on his initial fears and aspirations while establishing the university. He urged the faculty to pursue impactful research and actively contribute to shaping the academic future.

 

The highlights of the event included vibrant cultural performances by the students and the Long Service Award ceremony where dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff members were recognized for their longstanding contributions to the institution.

 

The celebration ended with a heartfelt vote of thanks and refreshments, marking Founder’s Day 2025 as a tribute to Dr. Nissar Ahmed’s vision and values. It reaffirmed the university’s commitment to excellence while honouring its legacy and future aspirations.
