Five-Day Faculty Development Programme
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Presidency University, Bengaluru, successfully organised a Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Innovative Pedagogy and OBE-Driven Laboratory Practices for Enhanced Student Learning” from 15th to 19th December 2025.
Resource Persons:
Faculty Members, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Presidency University
Target Audience:
EEE faculty members, full-time EEE research scholars, and EEE laboratory support staff
Summary of the FDP
The Five-Day Faculty Development Programme, conducted from 15th to 19th December 2025, aimed to strengthen laboratory teaching, assessment, and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) practices. The programme emphasised best practices in BEEE laboratory conduct, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and OBE-aligned documentation. Participants received hands-on training in OBE-based laboratory manual preparation, advanced experimental procedures, and systematic troubleshooting techniques.
Dedicated resource person sessions provided practical exposure to NI Multisim and MATLAB for circuit simulation and electrical applications. The FDP also focused on innovative pedagogical approaches for effectively handling Basic Electrical and Electronics laboratories. Sessions on Electrical Machines and Special Machines laboratories covered OC/SC tests, speed control techniques, BLDC, stepper, and synchronous machines, along with safety measures and course outcome (CO) mapping. The Power Electronics laboratory sessions addressed power converter control, gate drive circuits, DSO-based waveform analysis, and Multisim-based simulations, all aligned with OBE requirements. The programme concluded with MiPower-based Power System Simulation training, covering load flow analysis, fault studies, protection coordination, and stability analysis, supported by OBE-compliant documentation.
