Presidency University organised the Felicitation Programme for the Foundation Course in German and French on 21 January 2025 in Bangalore as part of the Odd Semester curriculum for undergraduate students of the School of Commerce (SOC). The 30-hour certification course, conducted from September to December 2025, was designed for 5th Semester students to introduce them to the structure, relevance, and global importance of the German and French languages, supporting aspirations for international education and careers.

The programme was facilitated by Dr Linda Barbara Foote (French) and Ms Asha A Menon (German), who provided a comprehensive overview of the CEFR A1 proficiency framework, covering Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Alongside language fundamentals, the course emphasised cultural awarenessinteractive learning, and the role of foreign languages in international university admissions, scholarships, immigration, and global employment opportunities.

This initiative marks the first batch to successfully complete the Certification Programme – Foundation Course in German and French and reflects Presidency University’s commitment to nurturing globally competent graduates. The programme serves as a stepping stone for students across disciplines to pursue foreign language proficiency and develop as global citizens.
