FDP Unpacking Intersectionality: Exploring Diverse Voices and Perspectives in Literature
The five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled Unpacking Intersectionality: Exploring Diverse Voices and Perspectives in Literature was organized by the Department of Languages from January 13–17, 2025, at F Block Seminar Hall, bringing together faculty, research scholars, and educators. The program focused on integrating intersectional frameworks into literary studies, fostering inclusive pedagogy, and critically analyzing diverse voices.
Key sessions included discussions on identity formation in Indian literatures, postcolonial perspectives, racist discourse, class in folklores, and pedagogical challenges in teaching intersectionality. Eminent scholars such as Dr. Shobha M, Dr. Yogananda Rao Kore, Dr. Shivalinga Swamy H.K., Dr. Rekha Datta, and Dr. S. Venkateshwaran led insightful presentations, engaging participants in critical dialogue.
The valedictory session, addressed by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, commended the faculty’s efforts in organizing the FDP and emphasized the transformative power of literature. The event concluded successfully with a vote of thanks by Dr. Pritha Sanyal, highlighting the collective commitment to advancing inclusive and socially conscious academic discourse.
