Event Report: NSS Five-Day Residential Camp

17-April-2026

The NSS Five-Day Residential Camp was organised with the objective of fostering social responsibility, leadership qualities and a spirit of service among youth. Conducted at People’s Trust, the camp witnessed active participation from NSS volunteers of Presidency University, providing them with a meaningful and enriching experiential learning opportunity.

The camp offered a holistic programme comprising community outreach initiatives, cleanliness drives and environmental awareness activities. Volunteers also attended expert lectures, awareness sessions and interactive discussions that addressed key social, environmental and health-related issues. These sessions helped broaden their understanding while encouraging critical thinking and informed engagement with real-world challenges.

In addition to educational activities, the camp featured cultural programmes, debates and games, creating a balanced environment for learning and recreation. These activities provided a platform for creativity, self-expression and teamwork, enabling participants to develop confidence and interpersonal skills.

A significant aspect of the camp was the volunteers’ active engagement with the local community. Through collaborative efforts and service-oriented tasks, they gained practical exposure and developed a deeper sense of empathy and responsibility towards society.

Overall, the NSS Five-Day Residential Camp proved to be a transformative experience. It played a vital role in shaping socially responsible individuals while strongly reflecting the core values and motto of NSS, “Not Me, But You.”
