Ethnic Day
Presidency University celebrates “Ethnic Day” on the DSA lawns on February 22, 2025. The event was a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, showcasing the rich traditions and heritage of various ethnic communities. The event aimed to foster unity among students while embracing the beauty of traditional attire, dance, music, and art. It provided a platform for students to express their cultural identities and appreciate the diversity within the university.
The event was graced by key officials Dr. Vidya Shankar Shetty, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dr. Sameena Noor Ahmed Panali, Registrar. Dr. Shetty addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of cultural heritage in shaping a holistic learning environment.
The event began with a captivating group dance performance, setting the tone for a vibrant showcase of cultural talent. Highlights included solo and group dances, soulful folk and regional songs, dynamic beatboxing, and an ethnic fashion walk celebrating cultural diversity. The presence of Ambassador Dr. Deepak Vohra added prestige to the occasion, underscoring the importance of unity and ethnic harmony in a globalized world.
Ethnic Day was a grand success, celebrating the essence of cultural heritage with enthusiasm and unity. The event not only highlighted the beauty of ethnicity through various performances but also reinforced the message of diversity and inclusivity.
The event was seamlessly coordinated by the dedicated team and student volunteers of the DSA, under the leadership of Dr. Anu Sukhdev, Dean – Student Affairs, Sports & Student Discipline.
