Empowering Students: Presidency’s Responsible Gaming Initiative
Presidency School of Media Studies organised a workshop on Responsible Gaming on February 10, 2025. The workshop aimed to create awareness among students about raising significant concerns about online safety and risks involved, such as harassment, exposure to explicit content and data breaches.
The key resource persons were Mr. Amitabh Kumar, Independent Journalist and Visiting Professor & Former BBC, and Ms. Arnika Singh, Former Sr Journalist, NDTV.
The workshop offered valuable insights into safe and fair gaming practices, emphasising how to identify and avoid risks in the digital space. Speakers underscored the importance of promoting responsible online behaviour. They also introduced an upcoming interactive module on responsible gaming, being developed by Social & Media Matters in collaboration with the E-Gaming Federation, aimed at equipping college students with the knowledge and tools to prevent problem gaming.
