Dept of Mechanical Engg Organises Advanced SolidWorks and CSWP Preparation Workshop
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is organising an intensive Advanced SolidWorks Workshop aimed at enhancing students’ CAD proficiency and preparing them for the globally recognised Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) certification. Designed as a hands-on training programme, the workshop will help students progress from fundamental 3D modelling to advanced industry applications, including part and assembly modelling, sheet metal design, mould design, and professional engineering documentation.
Building on the foundations established through the CAED (Computer-Aided Engineering Drawing) and CAMD (Computer-Aided Machine Drawing) courses, the workshop will provide practical exposure to advanced SolidWorks tools and techniques. Participants will receive training in CSWP core competencies, including advanced part modelling, equations, design tables, complex assembly mates, sheet metal fabrication, mould design fundamentals, and advanced drawing tools such as Bill of Materials (BOM) generation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Open to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year B.Tech Mechanical Engineering students, the programme aims to strengthen technical confidence, modelling speed, and design accuracy. Upon completion, participants will be better prepared for the CSWP certification examination and will develop industry-relevant skills in designing manufacturable sheet metal and mould components, enhancing their prospects for internships and careers in mechanical design, manufacturing, and research and development.
