Dept of Mechanical Engg Conducts Faculty Development Programme on Advanced CAD, CAE and Tool Design

23-July-2026

The Department of Mechanical Engineering successfully organised a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Advanced CAD, CAE, and Tool Design for Modern Manufacturing using SOLIDWORKS" from 23 to 28 July 2026.

The programme was designed to enhance the technical competencies of faculty members, researchers and industry professionals by providing practical exposure to advanced computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided engineering (CAE) and modern tool design methodologies. Through a combination of expert sessions and hands-on training using SOLIDWORKS, participants gained valuable insights into engineering analysis, product development and advanced tooling techniques that support contemporary manufacturing practices.

The FDP focused on strengthening participants' understanding of digital design workflows and engineering simulation while promoting the effective application of modern design tools in teaching, research and industrial practice. The programme served as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, skill enhancement and professional development, reinforcing the Department's commitment to promoting excellence in engineering education and supporting the evolving needs of the manufacturing sector.
