The Department of Civil Engineering, Presidency University, invites students, researchers and aspiring engineers to an engaging webinar titled “Navigating the Waste Crisis: Data-Driven Decision Making and Remediation Strategies in Indian Small Towns” on 25 March 2026. Organised in observance of the International Day of Zero Waste, the session aims to highlight the role of engineering solutions in addressing real-world waste management challenges.

The webinar will feature Ms Kiranmayee Keerthana B S, SWM Lead at BORDA South Asia, who will share practical insights into solid waste management, the use of data-driven tools and innovative remediation strategies implemented across Indian cities and small towns. Scheduled at 6:30 PM on Microsoft Teams, the session will provide participants with valuable perspectives on sustainable practices, including case studies such as legacy waste remediation, and the integration of technical solutions with social and environmental considerations. Students are encouraged to attend and explore how engineering knowledge can contribute to building cleaner, more sustainable and resilient communities.
