Dept of Civil Engg. Conducts Five-Day Faculty Development Programme on AI Integration
The Department of Civil Engineering successfully conducted a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Integrating Artificial Intelligence Applications into Core Civil Engineering Courses: A Curriculum Development Initiative” on 16, 17 and 20 June, and 21 and 23 July 2026.
The programme brought together eminent academicians from BITS Pilani Hyderabad, IIT Hyderabad, RASTA Centre for Road Technology, and Presidency University to explore the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in Civil Engineering education. The sessions covered AI/ML fundamentals, Generative AI, Vibe Coding, research applications, and domain-specific use cases across Structural, Geotechnical, Transportation, Water Resources, and Environmental Engineering.
The FDP enabled faculty members to identify practical strategies for integrating AI-enabled learning activities, assessments, case studies, and student projects into existing Civil Engineering curricula, paving the way for future-ready engineering education.
The Department extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the resource persons and participants for their valuable contributions and active engagement throughout the programme. The Department also expresses its sincere appreciation to the Presidency Leadership for its continued support and for facilitating the successful conduct of the programme.
