Department of Chemistry Hosts FDP on Chemical Sciences in the Modern Era
The Department of Chemistry at Presidency University is pleased to announce a six-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Chemical Sciences in the Modern Era: From Laboratory Research to Industrial Practice”, scheduled from 20 July to 25 July 2026.
Organised under the Presidency School of Engineering, the FDP aims to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial applications in emerging areas of chemical sciences. The programme will bring together academicians, researchers, industry experts, and students to explore recent advancements in pharmaceutical sciences, sustainable materials, water purification, and energy storage technologies.
The sessions will focus on translational research, innovation-driven product development, and the growing industrial relevance of chemical sciences. Participants will gain valuable insights into how laboratory discoveries are transformed into practical industrial and societal applications through expert talks, technical sessions, and interactive discussions.
Key topics to be covered include:
- Applications of Nanofillers in Functional Coatings
- From Lab to Patients – The Pharma Story
- Solar Hydrogen Generation for a Sustainable Future
- Geopolymers: Wonder Material for the 21st Century
- Bridging Research and Product Development in Water and Energy Storage Technologies
- Biomass-Derived Carbonaceous Materials for Sustainable Energy Storage Technologies
The FDP is open to faculty members, researchers, industry professionals, and students from Chemistry and allied disciplines. Participation is free of charge.
