Conclave on Indian Vision 2027: A Road Map to Reach a 30 Trillion Dollar Economy
The School of Management conducted a conclave on “India Vision 2047: A Road Map to Reach a 30 Trillion Dollar Economy” at Presidency University on June 28, 2024.
The conclave featured insightful discussions by a distinguished panel including Mr. Fasih Abbas M, Senior Director Head of Customer Success at Cashfree Payments; Dr. Padmakshi Lokesh, A Doctor, Clinical Psychologist, Educationist, and Stress Management Specialist; Mr. Kishor Jagirdar, Strategic Change Management Specialist, Angel Investor, Startup Mentor, and Innovator CMD, Infopace Management Pvt. Ltd.; as well as Mr. Harish B. G, Chief Innovation Officer at the Presidency Launchpad Association.
The panelists shared their analysis of the current state of the Indian market and outlined strategies to help India achieve a 30 trillion-dollar economy. Mr. Fasih Abbas M highlighted that India's drive towards its 2047 centenary includes leveraging fintech for enhanced financial inclusion. He emphasized that Vision 2047 focuses on financial literacy and public-private partnerships to achieve universal financial inclusion and equity. Dr. Padmakshi Lokesh elaborated on health sector and the economy. She highlighted that Vision 2047 includes minimizing healthcare infrastructure gaps, economic disparities, and environmental sustainability, improving the healthcare system, and encouraging sustainable practices to ensure a healthier, more equitable society.
Mr. Kishor Jagirdar highlighted the importance of addressing the economic disparities, skill gaps, and infrastructure deficits that remain crucial to the Indian economy, and the way forward is by prioritizing improving the business environment, expanding financial inclusion, and investing in education for an equitable economy. Mr. Harish B. G elaborated on how India’s ambition to become global leader in innovation and entrepreneurship by 2047, driven by youth and initiatives like Startup India. He also emphasized that going forward, addressing challenges such as capital access, regulatory complexity, skills shortages, and infrastructure gaps will be critical in achieving this goal.
The conclave provided the participants with a comprehensive understanding of the current challenges in various sectors of the Indian economy and outlined how Vision 2047 will pave the way for positioning India as a global leader in the digital and industrial landscape of the future.
