The Department of Languages, Presidency School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Presidency University, commenced its Certification Courses in French, German, and Spanish on 2 September 2026. The initiative is designed to provide students with an opportunity to acquire foreign language proficiency and strengthen their preparedness for global academic and professional environments.

The certification courses introduce learners to the fundamentals of the respective languages while progressively developing their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. In addition to linguistic proficiency, the courses seek to foster intercultural awareness and enable students to communicate effectively across diverse cultural contexts.

The programmes are coordinated by Dr. Linda Barbara Foote, Ms. Asha A. Menon, and Ms. Pooja B. V. The initiative reflects the Department of Languages’ continuing commitment to expanding multilingual learning opportunities and equipping students with competencies relevant to an increasingly interconnected world.
