75 Years of the Supreme Court: Reflections & Future Directions

The Constitutional Law Committee and Pro Bono Club of Presidency School of Law organised a symposium on "75 Years of the Supreme Court of India and Constitutionalism: Reflections and Future Direction" on March 7, 2025, at the campus. The symposium aimed to achieve several important outcomes that contribute to the ongoing discourse surrounding constitutional democracy in India.



The panellists for the event were Mr. P. Krishna Bhat, Hon'ble Former Judge, High Court of Karnataka; (Prof.) Dr. A. Lakshminath, Professor Emeritus, Maharastra NLU, Aurangabad; (Prof.) Dr. R. Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor, IIULER, Goa; (Prof.) Dr. G.B. Reddy, Senior Professor of Law, Director, P.G.R.R., CDE, Osamania University, Hyderabad; and Ms. S.R. Anuradha Pradeep, Senior Advocate, Mediator, and Trainer.



The symposium explored the Supreme Court's role in shaping democracy over 75 years, analysing landmark judgements and their impact on civil rights and societal norms. Discussions also addressed modern constitutional challenges, including digital-era justice, judicial appointments, privacy, and free speech.
