A One-Day Experience at BCC, Bangalore
Visiting BCC in Bangalore for a day was a surprisingly enriching and eye-opening experience. Even though it was just a short visit, it left a lasting impression on me in terms of learning, exposure, and personal reflection. I’am Mizna Aziz, From 2nd Semester of Foundation Class. The day felt like a glimpse into a world that blends creativity, structure, and real-world application.
From the moment I arrived, the environment itself stood out. Bengaluru, being known as a hub for innovation and design, already set a certain expectation in my mind. BCC lived up to that expectation with its vibrant atmosphere. The space felt alive with students engaging in discussions, working on projects, and moving around with purpose. There was a sense of energy that made me feel both excited and slightly overwhelmed in a good way.
One of the most impactful aspects of the visit was observing how design is approached in a practical setting. Unlike theoretical classroom learning, BCC emphasised hands-on work and real-time problem solving. I noticed how students were not just focusing on making things look good, but also on functionality, user experience, and storytelling. This shifted my perspective on design. It made me realise that design is not just about aesthetics it’s about understanding people, their needs, and creating meaningful solutions.
The infrastructure and facilities at BCC also played a big role in shaping my experience. The studios, workspaces, and collaborative areas were designed in a way that encouraged creativity and interaction. It was interesting to see how the physical space itself influences the way people think and work. Open spaces allowed for discussions, while individual work areas gave room for focus.
The combination of indoor spaces with greenery created a very calming and balanced atmosphere. For example, the drawing room like areas were not just plain rooms with furniture. They were designed in a way that made them feel comfortable and welcoming, almost like a living space rather than a formal setup. The presence of plants in these areas added a natural touch, making the space feel more relaxed and less rigid. It made me realise how important it is to design spaces that make people feel at ease.
This blending of nature with design also made me think about how spaces can affect our mood and productivity. The greenery brought a sense of freshness and calmness, which I feel can help people think more creatively. It showed me that design is not just about structure and layout, but also about creating an experience for the people who use the space.
However, the visit wasn’t just about admiration it also made me think critically. I realised that being in such a dynamic environment requires discipline, time management, and a strong sense of self-motivation. It’s not as easy as it looks from the outside. The freedom to create also comes with the responsibility to deliver meaningful work.
Overall, my one-day visit to BCC in Bangalore was much more than just an academic trip. It was an experience that broadened my understanding of design, challenged my assumptions, and inspired me to think differently. It gave me a clearer picture of what lies ahead if I choose to pursue this path seriously.
In conclusion, even though it was just a single day, the experience at BCC left a meaningful impact on me. It taught me that design is not just about creativity, but also about responsibility, empathy, and continuous learning. The visit has motivated me to improve my skills and approach my work with a more thoughtful and open mindset. It is definitely an experience I will carry with me as I continue my journey in the field of design.
