Stories That Shape Us: Human Library Session at PSOLAS
Presidency School of Liberal Arts & Sciences is organising a Human Library Session on November 20, 2025. This initiative forms a key component to build reflective and critical thinking practice for the BA English, Psychology and M.Sc. Psychology students.
The Human Library is a globally recognised framework that turns people into “Human Books”, inviting readers to engage with lived experiences instead of printed pages. The session will feature diverse Human Books who will share personal narratives centred on identity, belonging, resilience, healing, kindness, and culture. These stories will encourage meaningful conversations, challenge assumptions, and create an environment of compassionate dialogue.
Students can interact actively with the Human Books, listen attentively, ask thoughtful questions, and reflect deeply on the perspectives shared. The session will foster essential values such as empathy, openness, and respect, qualities that extend far beyond classroom learning and are vital for personal growth and global citizenship.
This initiative highlights the PSOLAS's commitment to holistic education, social-emotional learning, and inclusive pedagogical practices. By integrating reflective, student-centred experiences into the academic journey, the school aims to nurture learners who are not only academically capable but also emotionally aware and socially responsible.
Looking forward to hosting more such transformative sessions throughout the semester, strengthening the community through stories that connect, inspire, and empower.
