The department is currently offering courses related to environmental studies, applied chemistry and open elective courses. Equal importance is given to both theory and practical courses.

RESEARCH

The department provides exposure to quality outcome-based education with state-of-the-art instrumentation techniques. The core of environmental studies is being taught to the undergraduate students of all the schools. The department has highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members. The lab instructors are also qualified to handle the experimental work effectively.

The department is well equipped with lab facilities for both chemistry and environmental studies courses. The department also offers a PhD program. Currently, about thirteen scholars are pursuing their PhDs in the Chemistry Department. Both academic and industrial research is carried out in the department with funding from the university and other funding agencies.

The department also has sophisticated instruments like a gas chromatography system, an atomic absorption spectrophotometer, a UV-Visible spectrophotometer, a flame photometer, etc. The department actively conducts webinars, guest lectures, workshops and skill development programs that are beneficial for the students.
