PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE

From Training to Placement

The Career Services Division of the University is a springboard for the students from which they launch their professional careers and move on after getting this jumpstart when it matters most to them.

The Professional Practice program is a highly customized one for the university. Students are sent on industry internships which last for two months. These are crucial to building the much-needed skills in students who gain work experience in authentic real-world situations. A faculty coordinator coordinates with the students and visits the work sites and evaluates them during these summer term internships.

These structured internships help the students gain a foothold in the industries, which would not have been possible had they tried on an individual level, and most importantly, thorough preparation in the form of seminars and workshops helps them to move from the role of a student to that of a prospective employee in a workplace.

They are asked to maintain diary entries and reflect later the entire period to make it meaningful. These insights help both the faculty, and the students identify gaps and attempt course correction before the students step into the industry.

The Career Connect division offers placement services, strikes strategic alliances with a host of companies, and oversees on-campus placement drives. There are well-established teams looking into placements for the various Schools.
