School of Management inaugurates two weeks orientation program for MBA freshers

Presidency University extended a warm welcome to the new batch of MBA students at the School of Management for this academic year on August 12, 2024. 354 students have enrolled in the postgraduate program, who will participate in a two-week orientation program from August 12 to 27, 2024.

The orientation program was inaugurated by the chief guest, Mr. Biju Pillai, Director, Hewlett-Packard, CSSD CCC Bangalore, and university key officials, Dr. Anubha Singh, Vice Chancellor in Charge, Pro Vice Chancellors Dr. M. Dhanamjaya and Dr. Md. Sameeruddin Khan, Dr. Sameena Noor Ahmed Panali, Registrar, and Dr. Mrinmoy Biswas, Registrar, Accreditations and Corporate Relations. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Prabhakar Reddy, Controller of Examinations, Dr. M. J. Arul, Director, School of Management, and Dr. K. Srinivasan, Dean, School of Management, and other management faculty members and academic and non-academic departmental heads.

Dr. Anubha Singh extended a warm welcome to the students, sharing her personal reflections on the occasion. She recounted the story of athlete Richard Fosbury, highlighting how his innovative Fosbury Flop became a recognized technique, emphasizing individuality and innovation. She concluded with encouraging words on the importance of grit, determination, and learning from failures. The chief guest, Mr. Biju Pillai, delivered an engaging speech to students, emphasizing the university’s ideal fit for their aspirations. Through personal anecdotes and industry insights, he stressed the significance of personal branding, drawing inspiration from APJ Abdul Kalam’s philosophy on dreams. Pillai further emphasized the importance of resilience, learning from failures, and continuous adaptation to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Dr. M. Dhananjaya addressed the students and staff and emphasized the pivotal role of determination, dedication, and discipline in achieving life success. He praised the university's PG programs, commending the senior faculty and students for their excellence and discipline. He concluded by wishing the students success in their future endeavors. Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sameer Uddin Khan delivered a humorous and encouraging address, emphasizing curiosity and faculty support in MBA success and inspiring students with Steve Jobs' quote, “Stay hungry, stay foolish.” Dr. Sameena Noor Ahmed Panali, registrar, highlighting the importance of capitalizing on opportunities for personal and professional development, focusing effective listening, openness, and nurturing relationships.

Dr. Mrinmoy Biswas, Registrar Accreditations and Corporate Relations, shared a captivating fictional narrative comparing the societal progression of a river, emphasizing the pivotal role of parental sacrifices in shaping our present.
