The Department of Languages conducted an online workshop on Inclusive Teaching in Higher Education: Embracing Student Heterogeneity for faculty on April 30, 2024. The resource person was Dr. Kavita Rai Sinha, Director, Organization Development, Human Capital Development Ltd., Mauritius. She also serves as an adjunct faculty at Middlesex University, Mauritius.

The session created awareness among the participants on how to be sensitive towards the diverse abilities, interests, behavioral patterns, and needs of the students. Dr. Kavita emphasized the importance of inclusive teaching methods, a better learning environment, and better strategies to overcome any barriers. The workshop equipped the faculty with practical techniques for designing inclusive curriculum, instruction, and assessment methods that accommodate diverse learners.

By the end of the workshop, the faculty showed interest in implementing differentiated learning in classroom sessions in higher education. The workshop ended with participants sharing their experiences during the question-and-answer sessions.
