About Library
Welcome to Presidency University Library, a Gateway to knowledge resources. At present the library has a collection of over 37000 books and subscribes to 321 National & International Journals, 44 magazines and 32 newspapers. The Library subscribes to 24 online databases covering Engineering, Law, Management, Design and Humanities areas. The collection of the library is growing continuously on an everyday basis. Other collections in the library include CDs, question papers and periodicals. The library has automated all its routine activities through library management software KOHA along with web based OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) and Institutional Digital Repositories. The RFID security System has already been installed for surveillance circulation and other operations.
In achieving this goal, the library has been providing services to its clientele such as WEB OPAC Services, automated circulation using RFID Technology, email alert services, cyber lab services and other services required for the smooth functioning of a modern library.

PU Library Mission:
The mission of the PU Library is to gather, organize, preserve and provide access to the information resources to achieve its educational, research and service goals. To improve and expand access to information in all forms, using innovative technology thereby having a good collection, to assist in meeting the needs of Students, Faculty and Staff of Presidency University.
Library staffs are committed to provide and maintain a study oriented research environment, protecting the rights of users and sustaining the integrity of collections.
The Library’s mission is accomplished through the following goals:
- Identify, acquire, organize, preserve and provide access to pertinent recorded knowledge to support teaching, research and creative activities.
- Offer formal and informal instruction to promote information literacy.
- Provide an easily accessible, user-friendly and safe environment that fosters teaching and learning for the users.
- Apply appropriate technological innovations to achieve productivity and efficiency, as well as provide library services to the users.
- Communicate library services to create awareness and promote partnerships with universities, other libraries and educational institutions and local communities.
- Continue to improve the effectiveness of the Library through systematic, ongoing outcome assessment, evaluating the collections, services and programs on a continual basis.
