The chemistry department has a spacious lab that is well equipped with the most advanced testing instruments and raw materials required for conducting lab tests. The chemistry lab is used mainly by the students of the different engineering departments to aid them in the experiments that are part of their curriculum. The chemistry lab is also used by research students for research activities. 

The department has state-of-the-art labs and has built excellent experimental and computational facilities in the fields of Surveying and Photogrammetry, Soil Mechanics, Environmental Engineering, Concrete technology, and Structural Engineering.

The department of Mechanical Engineering has state-of-the art lab facilities in terms of space and equipment and is handled by well-experienced faculty members and laboratory staff. The laboratory equipment will aid classroom teaching, laboratory experiments, student project work, and student-faculty-company research activities. 

Machine shop spread over a 400-square-meter space, the machine shop has all machinery and measuring instruments to industrial standards. The machine shop consists of 

Cylindrical bay, which includes machinery like a heavy-duty all-gear lathe with DRO, a CNC lathe, a copy turning attachment, and cylindrical grinding. 

Surface Bay: CNC Milling, Surface Grinding, Universal Milling, Drilling and Milling Machine with DRO, etc.   

 Sheet Metal work: a Power press of 30 MT for sheet metal and structural metal works 

Resource room, Tool crib, and Standard room—cabin storage of raw materials and other consumables 

  1. Fluid Mechanics Lab: Spread across 300 square meters, the lab consists of many minor and major equipment, like a computerized wind tunnel, a Francis Turbine, a Kaplan Turbine, a Pelton wheel, etc. 
  2. Metrology Lab: Spread across 100 square meters with a dedicated room for CMM Equipped with necessary instruments with industrial standards like an industrial-grade CMM with software, a profile projector, Slip gauges, Tool dynamometers, etc. 
  3. Mechanical Design Lab –   The lab is spread across 100 Sq. meter with all necessary design equipment like Journal Bearing Apparatus, Whirling of Shaft with different end bearings, Forced Damped Vibration of spring mass system, Curved Beams, Motorized Gyroscope, etc.  
  4. Mechatronics Lab: The lab is spread across 100 square meters with an advanced basic pneumatic trainer kit along with a workbench, an advanced electro pneumatic trainer kit along with a workbench, a computerized data logging system with control of pressure flow and temperature, Hydraulics and Pneumatics Simulation software “Autosim 200”, etc. 
  5. Energy Conversion Engineering Lab: The lab is spread across 200 square meters with a variable compression diesel engine test rig, a computer-based multi-cylinder 4-stroke petrol engine test rig, a multi-cylinder diesel engine test rig with a hydraulic dynamometer, various types of engine cut-sections, the electrical layout of automobiles, a research engine with computer logging to do research on blended and biofuels, emission norms, etc. 
  6. Heat and Mass transfer lab: The lab is spread across 200 square meters with various equipment like Heat transfer from Pin Fin apparatus, Heat transfer in forced convection, Unsteady state of heat transfer, Emissivity apparatus, Stefan Boltzmann apparatus, Dropwise and filmwise condensation apparatus, Thermal conductivity of metal rod, Thermal conductivity of insulating powder, Thermal conductivity of liquids, Parallel flow and counterflow heat transfer. There are 12 computerized set-ups to study the experiments at the research level. 
  7. Foundry, Forging, and Welding Lab: The lab is spread across 200 square meters with various types of foundry tools like an LPG Furnace, Match plate pattern, Octagon block fixed, Moisture content tester, Molding box 12″x12″x4″ Cope & Drag, Pelton wheel cup pattern (aluminum), Permeability tester, Shear strength Tester, Sieve analysis test setup size, Tensile strength Attachment, Universal sand testing machine, etc. Welding equipment like Arc welding, gas welding, MIG welding, TIG welding, and spot welding with nondestructive testing equipment. 
  8. CAMD Lab: 3D modeling software Solid Works 2022 with 500 user licenses with AMC and a software partner for software updates, Workshops, seminars, online tests for international certification, etc. 

Department of Petroleum Engineering has laboratories for conducting laboratory integrated theory courses for better understanding of the subject matter and to get the hands-on experience. Laboratories of geology, Production, drilling, reservoir and simulation are well equipped with the advanced equipment to perform experiments.  

There are seven specialized labs in the laboratory namely  

Reservoir engineering lab – This lab is used to gain practical learning of reservoir description and fluid characterization. The lab mainly has a Core flooding system with high pressure pump up to 5000psi, water analyzer, Liquid Permeameter, Gas permeameter, BHP chart apparatus with microscope etc.   

Drilling fluids and cements lab – This lab is where students learn practical aspects of testing drilling fluids. The lab is equipped with machines such as ACRON 5 Portable pH meter, 6-Speed viscometer (Petropath India Pvt. Ltd.), OFITE Sherometer, Differential sticking tester (FANN) etc.  

Reservoir simulation and modelling lab – This lab is used to teach students the computerization of simulation of reservoir. The software used is CMG (Computer Modelling Group) Ltd Calgary, Canada. 

Oil and gas processing plant design lab – The software used in this lab is Unisim design academic program which helps students to understand the various procedures in oil and gas processing. 

Petroleum testing lab – This lab is where students learn how to test and evaluate the quality measures of petroleum. The various Equipements used in lab include Abbe refractometer, Digital saybolt viscometer, Redwood viscometer –1 & 2, Single distillation, Magnetic stirrer etc.  

Petroleum geology lab – As the name suggests in this lab, the students learn the geological aspects of petroleum. The lab is equipped with Rock specimens, Ore minerals, 3D geographical models, Mohs scale of hardness etc.                

Process control lab – In this lab students are taught to test the quality standards of petroleum. The lab is equipped with Flow process trainer PID controller, Interacting and Non-Interacting system, Pressure control trainer PID, Tow tank interacting system, Time constant of manometer etc.  

The Physics Department is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities to aid practical learning experiences. These well-equipped labs allow students to conduct experiments and gain hands-on experience applying theoretical concepts to real-world situations. From optics and electronics to mechanics and material science, the department ensures that students have access to the necessary resources to foster a spirit of scientific inquiry.
