Presidency University, Karnataka is a private University established in Karnataka, under the Karnataka Act No 41 of 2013 (henceforth, to be known as Presidency University Act). The Government of Karnataka notified the Presidency University Act, 2013 to establish Presidency University in Karnataka State vide Gazette Notification dated 16th May 2013. Presidency University is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical education), UGC (University Grants Commission), BCI (Bar Council of India). We are also listed in AIU (Association of Indian Universities). 

Presidency University has participated in the NIRF Rankings since 2018 to date. 

Our university was established in 2015, as per NAAC rule. The university’s application will be accepted in 2024. 

Presidency University is a state Private University, Established under section 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956 I Presidency University Act, 2013 of the Karnataka Act No.41 of 2013 Bengaluru. 

Presidency University is on the top ranked private universities in Bangalore city. As the university functions autonomously, the certificate for course completion is awarded by the Presidency University itself.  

Each course has different eligibility criteria. The eligibility norms are as follows 

ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS  

1. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO B. TECH PROGRAMS 
The candidate seeking admission for B. Tech Program should have passed in Pre-University / Higher Secondary /10+2 examination from an approved State / Central govt. board or from an international board like University of Cambridge "A" level certificate OR certificate from International Baccalaureate (IB), Geneva, etc., with 45% marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with either Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics /Computer as an additional subject, and with 60% aggregate of total marks in qualifying examination. Candidates should have appeared in any national/ state level/ Presidency University entrance examination viz. CET, Comed – K, JEE and such others.
2. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO B. TECH PROGRAMS (LATERAL) 
A candidate who has passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate is eligible for admission to B. Tech Programs (Lateral Entry). Candidate should have appeared in any state level entrance examination. 
3. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO BBA & BBA (Aviation) PROGRAMS
The candidate seeking admission for BBA & BBA (Aviation) program should have passed 10+2     or an equivalent examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. The same applies to SC/ST quota.  
4. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO B. Com (Honors) & B. Com (Professional) PROGRAMS 
The candidate seeking admission for B. Com (Hons.) & B. Com (Prof.) should have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate. The same applies to SC/ST quota. 
5. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO BCA PROGRAM 
The candidate seeking admission for BCA program should have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate. The same applies to SC/ST quota. 
6. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO B. Sc. – Data Science 
The candidate seeking admission to B.Sc. Data Sc. Should have passed (10 + 2) / PUC or equivalent examination with mathematics or statistics as one of the subjects with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. The same applies to SC/ST quota. 
7. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO B.Sc. – Multimedia 
The candidate seeking admission to B.Sc. Multimedia should have passed (10 +2) / PUC or equivalent exam with minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate. This applies to SC/ST quota.  
8.ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO B.Sc. – Economics 
The candidate seeking admission to B.Sc. Economics (Honors) program should have passed (10 +2)/PUC or equivalent exam with mathematics or statistics as one of the subjects with minimum 50 % marks in aggregate. This applies to SC/ST quota. 
9. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO BA (Journalism and Mass Communication)
The candidate seeking admission to BA (Journalism and Mass Communication) program should have passed (10 +2)/PUC or equivalent exam with minimum 50 % marks in aggregate. The same applies to SC/ST quota.
10. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO B.DES PROGRAM 
The candidate seeking admission for B.DES program should have passed Pre-University / Higher Secondary /10+2 examination Pass with Arts /Commerce /Science stream. Obtained at least 45 % marks & 40% in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST and other Reserved Categories like Category -1 and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A and 3B) students from Karnataka.  

Candidates must have appeared in any national level or state level or Presidency University entrance examination like UCEED.
11. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO LLB PROGRAMS 
The candidate seeking admission to B.Sc. Multimedia should have passed (10 +2) / PUC or equivalent exam with minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate. This applies to SC/ST quota.  

 

ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMS  

1. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO M. TECH PROGRAM 
The candidate seeking admission for M. TECH program should have bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering [B.E / B. Tech] in the relevant field from any Indian university or Foreign University recognized by UGC /AIU, having obtained at least 50% of marks on the aggregate. 45% aggregate marks required in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST and other Reserved Categories. 

The candidate should also submit score details of any State/Central Entrance Examination/Presidency University admission qualifying examination for ADMISSION TOME / M. TECH program. Kindly note that taking one of the above tests is a pre-requisite for admission to the M. TECH Program. 
2. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO MCA PROGRAM
The candidate seeking admission for MCA program should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with major in mathematics [B. E / B. Tech] or passed B. Sc./ B. Com/ B.A with mathematics from any Indian university or Foreign University recognized by UGC /AIU, having obtained at least 50% of marks on the aggregate (45% categories of SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.  

Candidates must have appeared in any national level/ state level or Presidency University entrance examination like PGET, KMAT.
3. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO MBA PROGRAM
The candidates seeking admission for MBA program should have successfully graduated from a recognized university with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination.

Candidates should have appeared in any national or state level or Presidency University entrance examination PGCET/ KMAT/ CAT/ XAT/MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA.  
4. ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR ADMISSION TO LLM PROGRAM 
The candidates seeking admission to one-year Master of Law (LL.M) degree program should have passed 3-year LLB degree or 5-year integrated degree from a recognized university, with at least minimum 50% in aggregate of the total marks of the qualifying examination. 45% aggregate marks in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST and other Reserved Categories. 

Candidates should have appeared in any national level or state level or Presidency University entrance examination like CLAT, LSAT. 

The admission to One Year Master of Law (LLM) Program shall be based on merit in the qualifying degree, scores secured in the All India Admission Test conducted every year by the universities individually or by a group of universities collectively, specifically for this purpose, with the objective of testing aptitude for teaching/research, legal reasoning, and comprehension / basic legal knowledge and interview conducted by Presidency University, Centre for Post-Graduate Legal Studies (CPGLS).    
  • The admission cycle for every academic year starts in January.  
  • The academic year for various courses will commence in the months of July and August, respectively. 
  • Students are requested to check our website for updated academic circulars on a regular basis. 

At Presidency University we admit students on the basis of merit. Admissions to courses offered under streams of Engineering, MBA & LLM require all-India entrance test scores.  

Presidency University also has an entrance exam named Presidency Aptitude Test (PAT). This is a mandatory examination for applying for all courses offered by the University. All interested students are requested to regularly check the university website for important announcements regarding PAT examination.  

Yes, you can begin your application process before you get your final result. For courses where admissions are based on your scores, you need to submit your scores for the qualifying examination on or before the respective last date. Proof of passing your qualifying examination must be submitted at the time of counseling/ admission. 

It depends on the admission criteria for the course you have opted for. All candidates are required to fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements for the specific course applied.

  • The admission officials will get back to the concerned student within 3 working days after the interview in the form of e-mail. 
  • Provisional admission letter will be sent to the successful candidates detailing date of commencement of selected course.  

A registration fee has to be paid after receiving the provisional admission letter. Once the registration fee is paid, the next installments of admission/ tuition fees can be paid as per instructions given by the admission office.  

The university has CET, COMED-K & PGCET (Reservation Quota).  

Management Quota is based on the Presidency Aptitude Test & interview conducted by the respective schools. The admission seat will be offered on a merit basis.

The test is conducted to determine the individual capabilities of a student in areas of aptitude for the course chosen, academic preparedness, and soft skills. This test also evaluates how familiar the students are with current affairs and news. 

Presidency University provides the option of off-campus hostels for boys and girls. Students are allotted hostel accommodations on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can also read more about hostel policy and regulations on our website. 

Presidency University firmly believes in the overall development of a student by the time he or she completes the course. There is an active department of student affairs on campus, under which there are 80 different types of clubs like dancing, singing, reading, environmental, acting, literary, etc. Apart from that, there are both indoor and outdoor sports activities and amenities on the campus and at all hostels. 

Students have to furnish their original educational certificates and other documents at the time of admission, against which an acknowledgement slip will be given.
