She was an associate with Promises Healthcare, a private mental health practice in Singapore, before moving back to India. She has worked with individual clients and groups, and conducted Pathways, which is an intensive outpatient program for achieving long-term sobriety. She has also conducted workshops for peers , numerous corporate clients, inmates at Changi Prison, and various halfway Houses.She currently works with individual clients, and conducts various workshops, which are tailor-made for target audiences.
Smita has authored “Understanding Addictions” published by Roli Books (India) in 2012. It is a layperson’s guide to some common addictions.In her free time, she writes articles & blogs on current affairs and social issues. She also does fine arts photography, and has held several solo and group exhibitions in art galleries in Singapore, Hong Kong, and cities across India.
