On the joyous occasion of Constitution day,PUSOL debsoc is proud to announce that it will be organising two fun packed events in continuance of its debating legacy – Samvidhan 2.0 and The Republic. Samvidhan, a constitutional quiz, has always been a collaborative effort with the research club,to introduce to the students of Presidency a chance to brush up on their constitutional knowledge. Being a bustling event,with adrenaline packed moments,few have missed an opportunity to participate in it.The Republic on the other hand,is a youth parliament. An event that allows the artiste in one to tango with the researcher. An event that allows you to take yourself lightly and let loose,while also providing you a platform to display your skills, it has been a crowd favourite with over 200 students signing up in a single day. This year however,we have a special honour,gracing us with his presence,we have our keynote speaker Professor Paramjit Singh Jaswal,who is the Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi NationalUniversity of Law in Patiala and the former Chairperson of Department of Laws, Punjab University, Chandigarh. Mr.Jaswal is the recipient of a Fulbright Scholar.Together with his wife Professor Nishta Jaswal, in 2018 they became the first couple to be Vice-Chancellors of the National Law Universities at the same time. We look forward to carrying forth this legacy of celebration for years to come.Happy debating!
The following is the schedule for the Law Day celebrations to be held on 26 November 2020:
1. Key Note address by Prof. Dr. Paramjit S. Jaswal, Vice Chancellor, RGNUL, Patiala, Punjab – 9:15AM to 10:00AM
2. Samvidhan – The Constitution Quiz – Will be spread out over the whole day beginning at 10:30AM
3. The Republic – All India Political Parties meeting – Beginning at 10:15AM
4. Announcement of Winners and Closing Ceremony – 3:00PM
