Dr. Rajiv Ranjan Singh is a Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Presidency University, Bangalore. He has over 20 years of academic experience (including about 14 years at BITS Pilani, Rajasthan, India, an Institute of Eminence declared by MHRD). He has completed his PhD from BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus in the area of “Wearable Computing”. His research interests lie in the areas of Wearable Computing, Embedded Systems, Biosignal Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning. He has been a reviewer for journals: Biomedical Signal Processing and Control (Elsevier), Computers in Biology and Medicine (Elsevier), Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering (Elsevier), Personal and Ubiquitous Computing (Springer), Multimedia Tools and Applications (Springer), Scientia Iranica (International Journal of Science and Technology, Sharif University of Technology, Iran) and the IEEE TENCON Conference.

Currently he is supervising four PhD students from both academia and industry in the areas of Smart Agriculture, VLSI and Embedded Systems (Intelligent Chips and Network On-chip). He has visited China, Hong Kong and USA to present his work at International Conferences. In his future research endeavor, he aims to provide solutions for some of the societal problems pertaining to saving lives, rehabilitation and health of humans by applying multidisciplinary approach. He is striving to attract research funding from governmental and non-governmental agencies to establish a Centre of Excellence at Presidency University, Bangalore and has applied to various funding agencies.

At Presidency University he has designed the course curriculum for M. Tech (Embedded System and VLSI). He has been a member of several committees at Presidency University, Bengaluru and has been actively contributing in various institutional development activities.
