Presidency University was honored to have the legendary cricketer and coach of Australian cricket team Shane Watson launch his new book “The Winner’s Mindset” on May 20, 2024, at the auditorium. The momentous occasion was graced by dignitaries including Dr. Nissar Ahmed, honorable Chancellor; Mr. Salman Ahmed, Vice President of PGI; Dr. Anubha Singh, Vice Chancellor in Charge; Dr. Sameena Noor Ahmed Panali, Registrar; and Mr. Sachin Sharma, Associate Publisher, Harper Collins, along with deans of various schools and faculty.
Dr. Anubha Singh and Dr. Sameena Noor Ahmed Panali expressed their happiness and gratitude to Shane Watson for choosing the Presidency University campus for his book launch, as the students and staff looked forward to listening to their favorite cricket star.
In his keynote speech, Shane Watson detailed the main aspects of preparing to perform at one’s best regardless of the outcomes by being result-driven and not result-focused. Drawing examples from his cricket career and anecdotes, he explained how the “fear of failure” is an obstacle in the path of one’s achievement. He also highlighted the contributions of other legendary cricketers and eminent personalities in his book, aimed at helping readers master their mental skills to excel in life. The event concluded with the official launch of “The Winner’s Mindset,” and Shane Watson also gave away signed books to the students.
