Dr. A. M. Surendra Kumar is an accomplished academician, researcher and administrator with over 38 years of experience. He received a Bachelor of Technology degree in mechanical engineering from Calicut University and a master’s degree in thermal science from the government college of engineering in Trivandrum.  

 Dr. Kumar completed his Ph.D. program at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay. He began his career as a lecturer in mechanical engineering at an affiliated engineering college under Mangalore University, Karnataka and served as the Head of the Department until 1994 before joining an affiliated engineering college under Mumbai University. Later, he joined BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus, where he held the position of Head of the Grading and Transcript Department. Dr. Kumar’s expertise and experience led him to join Presidency University, where he started as a professor and head of the Mechanical Engineering Department before being promoted to the positions of Assistant Dean and Controller of Examinations.  

 Currently, he holds the position of Pro-Vice Chancellor at Presidency University. Dr. Kumar’s achievements have been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who, where he has been listed as a noteworthy engineering educator and researcher. He has guided several M. Tech. and Ph.D. students and has more than 20 journal papers to his credit. His dedication and attention to detail have been the driving forces behind his success in both academia and administration.
