The Virtual Inauguration of ISTE Faculty Chapter and orientation Programme on “Journey of ISTE and its initiatives for Technical education Stakeholders” was scheduled on Saturday, 23rd January 2021 at 11:30 am. The webinar was conducted on Microsoft Teams. The Chief Guest and the speaker for the session was Dr. Sangappa S B, National Executive Council Member, Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi.
He Worked as Section Managing committee Member of ISTE , & also as Hon.Secretary & Treasurer of ISTE Karnataka State section From 2012 to December 2014 . Worked as National Executive Council (EC) Member of Indian Society for Technical Education ISTE New Delhi during 2014 to 2019. Actively involved in strengthening the ISTE by mobilizing the membership drive of both faculty & Students also instrumental in establishing the ISTE Chapters at many institutions and funding to the activities of the ISTE Chapters across the Stat , worked as selection committee member for various awards instituted by ISTE , Nominated to National ISTE committee on overseeing the Membership initiative of all stake holders .He organized many State level conventions for both the faculty & students of technical educational institutions of Karnataka . Presently elected to the National Executive Council of ISTE for the second term from 1st Jan 2020 to 31st Dec 2024.
The online program was graced by the presence of the Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. A. M. Surendra Kumar, SoE and Controller of Examinations, Dr. P. S. Venkataramu Dean, Academics , Dr. Beeran Moidin Registrar, Dr. C. S. Ramesh Dean, R & I, Dr. Abdul Sharief Dean, School of Engineering,Associate Deans and HOD’S.The program was coordinated by the ISTE team members Dr. Shilpa Mehta, Dr. M.S Divya Rani ,Mr. Gopalakrishnan N, Dr.Saravanan, Dr.Sandeep Kumar, Dr.Naveen, Mr.Sukumar, Dr.Ramesh,S.P, Ms K.N Praveena

The session started at 11:15 a.m with a virtual lighting of the lamp followed by the insight into the importance of ISTE and its benefits by Dr. C. S. Ramesh Dean, R & I, Dr. Abdul Sharief Dean, School of Engineering. Followed by this formal inauguration, the speaker took over the session
The session started at 11:30 am, and Dr.Sangappa highlighted the benefits of availing Lifetime membership and its benefits.He stated the benefits as ,a member can join an academic Fraternity of over 1,24,000 strong professional network. Preference to attend short-term training programme for the academic excellence and to become eligible for career advancement opportunities. Getting monthly e-copy of ISTE Newsletter by email Quarterly Indian journal of Technical Education (at concessional rates). The webinar witnessed over 50 participants .After the speech the speaker encouraged staff to clarify their doubts regarding the membership of ISTE. The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed and presenting a certificate to Guest speaker.
