A half day training program on selling farm products online was organized by Sustainable Development Centre of Presidency University, Bengaluru, on Friday, 25th October 2019. The Program was organized in association with Community Farm, an organization which arranges sale of agricultural products directly from the farmers, without any intermediaries. Experts from Community Farm demonstrated the use of computers and mobiles for selling agricultural products. All participants were given smart phones in order to practice and develop their skills in technology and marketing process. Students of Presidency University provided hands on training to the farmers in using the smart phones and websites. The program was co-ordinated by Dr Rosewine Joy, Assistant Professor. 35 farmers from the local villages attended the program.
In the beginning, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Radha Padmanabhan said that the university is very happy to provide all help to the farming community in up-skilling their technology. Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ishwara Bhat, Dean, Prof. Ramesh and other faculty members were present on the occasion.
