The gratitude towards teachers can be through any medium. Department of Student Affairs, Presidency University organized Teacher’s Day on virtual platform for the entire fraternity of PU on0 5/09/2020, the birth day of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the former President of India . This is In view of his dedication to education and respect for teachers.
The event was graced by the Hon’ble Chancellor, Shri Nissar Ahmed who complimented the teaching fraternity for stepping up in the times of Covid 19 and for quickly adapting and transitioning into the Virtual Teaching and Learning platform with utmost patience and efficiency. Dr. Radha Padmanabhan, the respected Vice Chancellor of the university urged the teaching community to go beyond their call of duty and shape their wards into beautiful personalities. She commended the role of teachers in effectively using the online platforms to impart knowledge during these times. The key leadership team of Presidency University also addressed the audience sharing their thoughts on the occasion of Teacher’s Day. Director- DSA mentioned that she remember all teachers with lot of love , gratitude and affection and surrender her achievements to them and for the values that inculcated in her to her parents and gurus
The virtual celebrations were enriched with the well put out cultural performances by students who had recorded videos with touching messages addressed to the teaching community as an expression of their gratitude and affection.
The different events included messages from key officials, Gurusamarpana – messages from students, cultural events that includes songs, dance, poetry, skit …etc . The event was a grand success and the program was well received by all.
