School of Commerce and Economics in association with Department of Students Affairs organised a Success Series – Invited Talk by Eminent Bengalureans, a Value Added Program on 5th September 2019.
The Success series session was graced by two eminent personalities, one among them was Mr. Ram Nagaraj, an acclaimed gazal singer. Mr. Ram Nagaraj has been singing passionately, ever since his childhood. Over the last several years, he has also accomplished a lot of corporate gigs, besides private and small-group mehfils. With a clear motto in his life to just sing for the joy of the audience, bouquets or critical brickbats are well-received by Ram. He feels that nobody has ever been perfect and not everybody can become a celebrity.
Ram interacted with the students and motivated them with his joyful performance. He deeply believes that he has been fully enjoying this long journey of music thus far, and will continue to do so till the end for.
Another promising person who stole the hearts of each and every person in the event was Ritvik Rajan, a ‘B High’ artiste of All India Radio, Bangalore.He started his musical journey at the tender age of one and half years. Till the age of nine, he was expressing himself only through his songs. His first stage performance was when he was nine years old. His musical journey included learning instruments such as keyboard, tabla and classical vocal music – Hindustani (for more than 15 years) and of course, light music. He has also performed for audiences across the country and abroad, on more than 1000 stages. His singing was widely appreciated by many playback singers and music directors. He was also one of the six finalists in the Zee TV Sa Re Ga Ma, Kannada, Season 15 of 2019.
Ritwik Rajan’s performance at Presidency University lit fire on the stage with his stupendous energy. Each and every moment spent with him by the students was a memorable one and also was a great start for the new step by the University.
At the end of the session, students eagerly interacted with both the talents for memorable take- aways.
Prof. Dr.RadhaPadmanabhan, Vice Chancelor, Presidency University conveyed her heartfelt thanks and regards to the two successful professionals and appreciated the initiative by the DSA and the School of Commerce and Economics.
In the beginning, Ms.Sreelekha Premjit – Assistant Dean, DSA gave the general introduction to the program which was followed by a welcome address by Dr. Balu – HOD, School of Commerce and Economics.
