Dr. Sunil Kumar K R

Dr. Sunil Kumar K R pursued his PhD in 2014 from Hokkaido University, Japan under the prestigious MEXT scholarship program by the government of Japan. He continued his postdoctoral research with his PhD supervisor Prof. Nobuyuki Tamaoki, Former director of Green Nanotechnology Centre, at RIES, Hokkaido University. He received the distinguished “Matsumoto-Hatori Award” for his research excellence at RIES in 2017. He joined The University of Tokyo for the second postdoctoral research and there he worked for about two years under the guidance of Prof. Takashi Kato, President of Polymer Science, Japan and a former President of the Japanese Liquid Crystal Society. He also had the pre PhD research experience of two years in India at Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences, Bengaluru and at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. In his research carrier he focused on the interdisciplinary areas of chemistry and material science that included Motor proteins, Photochemistry, Synthetic Organic and Peptide chemistry, Fluorescence optical imaging, liquid crystals and polymers. He has the credentials of having papers published in high impact journals, cover pictures, awards, posters and oral presentations in many international conferences in abroad. Notably, his research works are highlighted in an American Chemical Society journal that is ACS Nano Perspective written by Prof. Henry Hess of Columbia University in the city of New York, a Nanotechnology portal site called Nanowerk, Atlas of Science, YouTube and in a famous Japanese monthly chemistry magazine “Kagaku”. Currently he is as an Assistant professor at Presidency University, Bengaluru, India.
