In a signing ceremony held on Tuesday, 18th February 2020, Presidency University, Bengaluru signed a MOU with University of Applied Sciences, Konstanz, Germany, for establishing academic co-operation between the two universities. The goals of the MOU includes academic co-operation and scientific research, bilateral exchange of students – at the graduate and postgraduate level and academic exchange of teaching faculty. The MOU was signed by Chancellor of Presidency University, Sri Nissar Ahmed and Vice President, University of Applied Sciences, Konstanz, Germany, Prof. Prof. Dr. Beate Bergé.
The MOU also includes development of joint educational programs for Bachelors and Masters; assisting scientific co-operation and scientific projects in areas of mutual interest; making joint applications for grants and participate in projects of international funds; arranging training for improvement of scientific skills of academic staff, graduates, postgraduates; arranging international forums – symposiums, workshops, and conferences,; organizing joint cultural programs, joint educational and scientific projects.
During the visit, the visiting dignitaries had a detailed meeting with the key officials including Pro Chancellor, Prof. Vijayan Immanuel, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Radha Padmanabhan, Dean, School of Engineering, Prof. C. Prabhakar Reddy, HoD, Department of Mechanical Engineering and other senior faculty .
Following the signing ceremony, Dr. Konstantin Hassemer, Dean, International Study Program, Department of Business, Cultural and Legal Studies, HTWG, had an interactive session with the students wherein he spoke about the opportunities for Research and Higher Education at HTWG University, Germany.
