Orientation for the 6th Batch of PhD scholars was held on Tuesday, 12th February 2020 at the university. The batch had 76 scholars from various streams. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Dr. S. G. Sreekanteswara Swamy, Head & Consultant, VGST, Govt. of Karnataka, spoke on the subject, “ Pathways of Science & Technology and Research Methodology”.
Dr Swamy said that Science & Technology has emerged globally as the major driver of socio economic development. Science and Technology must play a proactive role in delivering the aspirations of Indians. Dr Swamy spoke on the importance of innovation and research and how that will lead to socio-economic development of the country. He called upon the newly joined PhD Scholars to keep an eye on quality research from the very beginning.
Pro Chancellor, Prof. Vijayan Immanuel called upon the new PhD scholars to follow the PhD Regulations of the University strictly.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Radha Padmanabhan called upon the new Scholars to make best of the facilities made available in the university.
Dean of Research, Prof. C. S. Ramesh welcomed the new PhD scholars. Dr. M. Sankar, Deputy Dean, Research & Innovation proposed the vote of thanks.
