Karnataka Rajyotsava was celebrated in the Presidency University campus on Saturday, 3rd November with a splash of music, dance and motivating speeches by the staff and students.
The event began with a brief talk by the Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Ishwara Bhat who spoke on the genesis of the present state of Karnataka and the stalwarts who made it happen. A group of staff members rendered Nada Geethe besides other patriotic songs followed by energetic dance performances by the students depicting the culture of Karnataka. The highlight of the afternoon was a performance of Dollu Kunita, which is a tribal dance in Karnataka. Dollu Kunita, performed by a professional group held the audience spell bound while the campus reverberated with their drum beats.
Everyone agreed it was an afternoon well spent celebrating the anniversary of the formation of our beloved state Karnataka.
