The Department of Physical Education launched the FIT INDIA campaign on 19th September 2019 at the University campus from 4.00 pm to 5.00 pm. Over 150 students participated in this fitness movement programme actively. Students involved themselves in various fitness workouts like jogging, shuttle run, various jumping exercises, squat exercises, push ups, full body stretching exercises, free hand exercises and Burpee exercises for developing their strength, balance and flexibility. The instructors of the Department guided the students to develop the habit of physical exercises which is required for a fit mind. Research shows that physically active students are healthier and better in academics too.
Fit India movement is a nationwide movement which encourages people to remain healthy and fit by physical activities and sports in their daily lives. Presidency University is committed to create a balanced atmosphere of disciplined academic and sports activities for the overall personality development of its students, in shaping their career.
Speaking on the occasion of conclusion of the activities on 19th September, Director of Physical Education, Dr Kalidoss said that FIT INDIA activities will continue on the campus.
