A FDP on “MATLAB/ SIMULINK -Application to Real Time Targets” was organized by the Department of Electronics & Communication in association with CoreEL Technologies from 27/01/2020 to 29/01/2020. The purpose of this programme was to give a progressive awareness to technology enabled teaching-learning practice to engineering educators with emphasis on application of MATLAB/SIMULINK on various platforms. The following were the main contents of the FDP.
Day 1 & Day 2: Session on working with MathWorks Tools in Signal Processing, Image Processing, DSP and HDL Coder
Day 1: Session was started at 10:30 A.M with an Introduction to CoreEL & Mathworks, Understanding Mathworks Products, Signal Processing with Mathworks Products, Control Systems & SIMSCAPE and Image Processing with Mathworks Products
Day 2: Session was started at 10.00 A.M with hands-on session on Prototyping and Implementation using MATLAB, Workflow for FPGA/ ASIC Design using HDL coder, Machine Learning and Deep Learning with MATLAB and Visualizing Decision Boundaries
Day 3: The third day Session was started at 10.00 A.M with an hand-on session which covered Machine Learning and Deep Learning with MATLAB, Quick exploration of Machine Learning algorithms using Apps in MATLAB, the Challenges while training Deep Neural Networks, Exploratory Data Analysis with MATLAB and Demonstrations of problems that can be solved using Deep Neural Networks. Finally, at the valedictory function, our chief guest Dr. C Prabhakar Reddy, Dean, SoE distributed the certificates to the participants.
Important resource persons were Mr. Rakshith Kashyap, Senior Application Engineer, CoreEL Technologies and Mr. Shashi Kumar JK, Application Engineer, CoreEL Technologies.
The FDP was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. C Prabhakar Reddy, (Dean School of Engineering), Dr. Kalaiarasan, (Associate Dean School of Engineering) and Dr. Shilpa Mehta (HOD ECE Department).
