Dr.Rajkumar has joined our law school as an Associate Professor in September 2020. Dr.Rajkumar is a foreign educated law academician with seventeen years of teaching and practice experience. Before entering the legal academia, Dr.Rajkumar was a qualified lawyer and had an extensive practice in the area of Debt Recovery, Insurance, Insolvency, Intellectual property, and wide range of Corporate Matters. He has graduated BA LLB from University of Madras. He studied for an LLM in International Commercial Law from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen United Kingdom. He has also completed a certificate course in Oil and Gas Law from the same University. He wrote his doctoral thesis on Production Sharing Contract in India. In the thesis he argued that the present contractual mechanism governing the hydrocarbon resources (PSC) in India is plagued with legal and contractual issues and identified those issues, an attempt first time by anyone in the country. He is the only faculty to have completed a PhD in oil and Gas Law in the Country. He teaches and researches in the area of Contract Law, Company Law, Arbitration, Mergers & Acquisition and Petroleum Laws etc.. He was the faculty editor of VIT Law Review and UPES Law Review in his previous institutions. Dr.Rajkumar has trained industrial professionals on various occasions with a particular focus on regulatory matters and contracting governing of oil and gas sector. Before joining Presidency University, Dr.Rajkumar was working as an Associate Professor of Law with a Chennai based University.
