The university has two state-of-the-art computing centres which are added feathers to the university’s learning architecture. The computing Centre possesses 120/ [240] high end Dell systems and 120 Thin client machines. The centre maintains two specialized high performance servers. In addition to that, the Centre has a round the clock Wi-Fi connection. Dedicated bandwidth of 20 Mbps (1:1, full duplex) and 10Mbps are available from two different vendors and hence internet is made available for all the stake-holders. The administrative blocks, academic blocks, library and other buildings of the campus are connected through the Wi-Fi.
The university holds the Microsoft Campus license agreement to use latest versions of MS softwares. Apart from the usual programming and application software, such as C, C++.. the Centre is well equipped with latest versions of softwares, engineering tools and training kits, such as AUTOCAD from AutoDesk, CATIA V5 from DASSAULT systems for drafting and simulations, Bentley-Statpro – 2D Structural Analysis and design software and MATLAB for the benefit of students of different engineering disciplines.
The Computing Centre is also equipped with language lab software called “Globarena” e-mentoring system. It helps to develop the students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills apart from strengthening their grammar and vocabulary. Since it is used through online, it facilitates to check their progress by administering pre-tests and post-tests. This software is used by the students who wish to tone up their communication skills.
Our Library has 15 high end systems for the learning community to read various e-resources such as e-journals, e-books, and databases such as Pro Quest and NPTEL lectures. In due course of time, our university will have a Data Centre, to cater the IT needs.
The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) database which has been made available in the university, has close to 350 courses on various subjects on Sciences, Engineering and Technology and these can be used all over the campus terminals.
The cutting-edge laboratories & facilities provide extensive computing resources for research and education.
